I consciously checked my hopes at the door and went in with an open mind. This time, I tried my best to be realistic. I know it’s unrealistic to expect an author that hits one out of the park to repeat that same performance the next time they’re up at bat, but sometimes that doesn’t stop this crazy mind of mine from wanting to experience that same level of book nirvana. So imagine my excitement at the mere thought of a follow-up, let alone actually holding it in my hands.
